Nintendo Game Cube

Ryan got Jacob a Nintendo came cube and a little t.v. for his room. I'm not sure who has more fun playing the games. I love to watch them interact with each other. We went to my parent's house and picked up our old banana chair they were storing for us. Glad we didn't throw it away.

Jake told me to take a picture of the t.v. so their ya have it.

All week Ryan was working afternoon shift...so he goes to work at 1:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. Jake has missed his dad all week. He knew Ryan had Friday off. Everyday he would ask me how much longer until Friday. Jake told me on Thursday morning"It sure takes a long time to get to Friday." You don't have to tell me that I completely agree. Jake told me "When it's Friday I'm spending the whole day with my dad and you don't mind my business." I think he must have picked that up from someone telling him to "mind his own business". You can see how happy he is to spend the day with his dad.

Your Invited To Our Dance Party

Thursday after work I picked the kids up from my mom's. We went to Wendy's to get chicken nugget kid's meals. After the kids ate dinner they asked me to please come to their dance party. Jake put on his Sunday dress shoes to dance with his sister. I was trying so hard not to cry....I was laughing so hard at the two of them.
Marli got these new jammie's and when she put them on started twirling around. She said they make her feel beautiful like a princess.

Princess Ariel Will You Marry Me?

Jake said he was prince Eric and Marli was Princess Ariel. I was shocked at what came out of his mouth next......he got down on one knee and said "Princess Ariel will you marry me?" Marli said "Yes Prince Eric I will marry you." They hugged and started dancing. Jake showed his sister where to put her arms when they danced.

These two are always pretending something. I put my camera on video and Jake did it again. I tried to upload the video to blogger. I will keep trying. These two are so darling. I'm thankful I have them around to keep life exciting.

Tuesday Night Activities

Tuesday Night I went team teaching with the LDS sister missionaries. This was something I have never done before. I picked up Sister Mann and Sister Griffith's at 6:00 p.m. This is an experience I will never forget. I feel so blessed to have a little insight on what the missionaries to on a daily basis. We visited inactive members of the church as well as investigators and people who the sister's had on their list to contact. Sister Griffith's mission is about to come to an end. She has been serving for 18 months. Next Wednesday when they do transfers she will be going home to her family in New York. Sister Mann has a while left she is from California. One of the homes we went to was a 92 year old woman Sister Bradley. She was the neatest lady. She has a cockatoo bird that was so entertaining. This woman has 5 children that she has out lived. The sister missionaries sang the most beautiful song while we were at this amazing woman's home. The spirit was so strong. Our stake boundaries are huge. We drove to 9 different homes in a vast range of mileage. I took the sisters home at 9:00 p.m. I am so thankful I was asked to do this.

My Mom & Dad were nice enough to pick the kids up at my house and keep Jake and Marli until after 9:00 p.m. when I finished.
My parents had the kids Jammie's on when I got there. I had cookies for the kids. I told them they could have them the next day. Somehow they talked me into letting them eat them on the way home.

Called To Serve

My first service since my new calling.

I went to my friend Linda's house she lives across the street and she helped me make some cute baby cards.

A lady in my ward had a baby girl. My compassionate service partner and I took dinner in the first night. Along with a baby blanket and card. I am really enjoying this new calling.

Jesse And A Barrel Of Monkeys

One time Jesse was at our house and he had so much fun with a barrel of monkeys. Right before Christmas we picked up a barrel for Jesse. Because Eric,Melissa and Jesse went to Spokane for Christmas we had to wait until after the holidays to give our little buddy his present.

Jacob helped Jesse open them. We hope he enjoys playing with them and thinks of us when he does. We love you Jesse!!!

Day At The Dentist Office

Jacob and I had dental appointments today. Jacob had pre-school and Papa Bill picked him up. I took Marli over to my dad's while I went to my dental apt. the kids played with grandpa. When I was done I picked the kids up to go back to the dentist office. Luckily it's only a couple blocks from my parents house. Jacob was doing great until Kathy the hygienist tried to take some pictures of his teeth. He couldn't figure out how to keep the xray film in between his teeth. He got frustrated and started crying. This was his second visit to the dentist. It was sad. He finally got his teeth cleaned and Dr. Pearson looked at the one xray Kathy was able to get. He has beautiful teeth. We rescheduled another apt. for 6 months. Marli really wanted to get her teeth cleaned. I took her so she could see what to expect when she goes. She was upset that she wasn't going to get a turn. As we were leaving they had a patient who didn't show up for their apt. Kathy said she could see Marli. Then Marli started crying because she wanted a turn and didn't get one and then she was upset that she was going to get a turn after she was OK not getting one. What a nightmare for mom. She did so great she listened to everything Kathy and Dr. Pearson said. I was so proud of her. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera. I took the kids to Reed's dairy for ice cream. When we got home I grabbed the camera took some shots of the two of them and this is the best I could get. Wow...I'm glad I have until July until I have to go through this ordeal again.

Rosewood Ward Compassionate Service Leader

Yesterday I was asked to meet with my bishop and his counselors. I knew with the new year they were working on callings for all of the ward members. I was hopeful that I would get to be Jake or Marli's primary teacher. I thought that would be neat. August 13th of this year was my 10 year anniversary of being a member of the LDS church. As I reflect over the callings I have had I have never served in the Relief Society. So when the bishop said he'd been especially promted to give me this new calling I had a really good feeling. I have been called to serve as the Rosewood ward compassionate service leader. I am really excited about this. I think this is going to be a wonderful experience that I will treasure all the days of my life. I believe it's important that when you see a need you take the opportunity to do something. I have been doing this in my neighborhood for years. I have several non-member friends that I have taken meals into or served otherwise. I have also called those same people to help take meals or other items in to others when a need has come available. I am excited to have everyone in my ward boundaries come together and help provide service. I want to share a couple quotes.

Serving and Supporting Each Sister Bonnie D. Parkin, Relief Society general president: “ Every time we watch over one another, godlike qualities Of love, patience, kindness, generosity, and spiritual commitment Fill the souls of those we visit and enlarge our souls as well. In the Process, we honor our covenants. I see legions of faithful sisters around the world going forward on the Lord's errands, performing simple yet significant service."

President Gordon B. Hinkley "We are a church, a church in whose name is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We bear witness of Him and it is His example and His teachings we try to follow. We give love. We bring peace. We do not seek to tear down any other church. We recognize the good they do. We have worked with them on many undertakings. We will continue to do so. We stand as His servants. We acknowledge that we could not accomplish what we do without the help of the Almighty. We look to Him as our Father and our God and our ever-present helper, as we seek to improve the world by changing the hearts of individuals. "
