Backyard Fun

While I was at the doctor the kids played at Grandma Bette's. Uncle Kyle probally slept really good after the kids went home. Thanks to Lesley for capturing all this fun for me.

Looks like a lot of backyard fun. Thanks Uncle Kyle for playing with the kids!!!

Target & Toys 'R' Us

Thursday July 12th
When I was at work Grandma Bette, Kyle, and Lesley took the kids to Target. I'm not sure if they got anything good, because I wasn't there. Lesley took pictures with her camera and as I'm going thru the pictures she put on my computer I found these.

I met everyone at Bajio for lunch. We went to Target after lunch. Jake recruited Uncle Kyle to help him pick out the best Transformer. I knew nothing about them. I remember Kyle and Brandon playing with Transformers when they were little.

After Toys 'R' Us we went to Once upon a child to see if they had anything good. Then I was off to my doctor appointment. I would meet up with the family at my mom's later.

Go Chuckars!!!

Monday July 16th we all went to the Chuckars game. My dad got tickets. Grandma Bette and Papa Bill took the kids early to get good seats. When I got off work I met them there.

The kids had a blast. It was Westmark night. Westmark credit union gave out pom poms and candy.

Lesley's younger sister Stacey lives in Provo with her husband Jake. She was up here visiting her in-laws. It worked out that she came to the game with us. It was so much fun having her here.

The game went into extra innings. At 11:00 p.m. I had had enough and was ready to leave. The kids and I left and Kyle and Lesley took stacey to her in-laws and met me at my house. We stayed up for awhile and then decided we would continue the party the next morning. Kyle and Lesley stayed over in Marli's new room downstairs. Marli hadn't gotten used to it yet. She would get up in the night and roam around the house not quite sure were she belonged. Sorry Kyle and Lesley that Marli would turn on the light in the middle of the night.

West Yellowstone

Saturday July 14th we met my Mom, Dad, Kyle and Lesley in West Yellowstone. We got a hotel room at the stagecoach Inn. After we checked in we walked around West. The kids thought it was fun to go in all the shops. I told the kids they could pick out a souvenir. Jake looked at me and asked me what a souvenir was. Ryan and I tried to explain to him it helps you remember a place or time.

Grandma Bette found this Horse shirt for Miss Marli. She loved it and wanted to wear it right away.

Later we were in a shop and Jake found a few things he really liked...he was so excited" Mom These are my memberies"! It was so cute. For the rest of the day he would tell everyone about his awesome memberies.

We went to dinner at The Bear restaraunt. It was so delicious. We went back to the hotel and hung out. It was so fun. My family got up the next morning and drove thru the park. I had another one of those horrible allergic reactions, where my eyes swelled up and all of that. Ryan and I decided we should come home so I could take it wasy so I could go to work the next day. We came home took a nice nap. It was a nice weekend.

Jake Sleeps

Jake must have had a super fun time at the reunion and was wiped out. He fell asleep on the way home from Island Park. Ryan put him to bed. The next morning I went in and this is what I saw. Too Funny!

Thomas Family Reunion

Saturday July 7th was the Thomas Family reunion in Island Park. Ryan took Jake up to the reunion for the day. I stayed home with Marli. She was still feeling pukey from the stomach flu. Ryan took the camera and got these pictures for me.

Jake was so excited to see everyone.

Grandpa Reuel brought a raft for the boys to float the river. Ryan said Jake was a little scared at first, but then loved it. Jake took his fishing pole and got to use it for the first time. He was so happy!

Smokey the bear was there. Ryan tried to force Jake to say hi. Jake was scared and then on his own time went up and talked to him.

The boys had a great time. I was sorry I missed out on the fun. Marli slept most of the day.I took it easy and enjoyed the down time. Maybe next year will be better for us and we'll make it to the reunion.

The Stomach Flu

The day after the fourth Jacob got really sick. He had a fever of 104 that I couldn't keep down. He was miserable and didn't eat anything for over 52 hours. I was so worried about him.

When he was starting to come around I left him with Ryan while I went to a scrap party at the fairfield Inn. When I got home later that night...Ryan showed me the pictures he'd taken while I was gone. Jake finally felt better and got his appetite back he requested grilled cheese sandwhiches and tomato soup. These pictures are awesome. As a mother you worry about your kids so much. Especially when they're sick and can't eat. A mother wants to nurture her kids. One of the ways we do that is by feeding our kids. I was so happy to see that finally he was able to eat and keep it down.

You can tell it was rough at our house by looking at Marli. After Jake started feeling better BAM!!! It hit Marli. She wasn't nearly as sick as Jake. Thank goodness. She only went 16 hours without eating. I have to say I was about to loose it though. I wasn't feeling well, and had to do upteen loads of laundry. Sheets, pillowcases, blankets, clothes...REPEAT! Man it was brutal!

4th Of July

I know the fourth of July was a month ago....I just never posted anything. So I thought I would post what our family did on the 4th. First of all we have a tradition of going with our Neighbor's the Foust's to find our parade spot on the 3rd. This year we have new neighbors that just moved in from California. They bought the house in between Nikki and us. Michael Ryan is the dad and Katie is the mom. They have two little kids. We invited them to go with us. So Jaime, Nikki, Tiffany, Brittany rode in the back of our truck, while Michael Ryan drove his explorer. We were off to find the perfect spot to watch the parade. We all got up early and met at our spot. We enjoyed the parade. We had shade which was so nice because it was really hot out.

Jake cooled us off with the water mister. He thought it was funny to spray us. We all enjoyed the cool water mist.

Here's Jaime and the beginning of the parade the bikers.

Here's our group.

Here's our friends Nikki and Jaime.

This was so weird...the KLCE van drove backwards thru the parade. We didn't understand what the point of that was.

These were some of our favorite floats.

After the parade we stopped at my office used the bathroom. We were feeling hungry so we went to Wingers for lunch. Then we went home took a nap. We got up and went to our neighbors Terry and Deb's for a BBQ. My friend Linda that has been in Virginia going to Rad-con school came home for the holiday. It was so great to see her. She'd been gone since April. She'll graduate in Sept. We all miss her. After the BBQ we went down to the soccer field and watched the fireworks. Our friend Michael Ryan brought the radio for us to listen to the KLCE broadcast. Funny thing was it was a wind up radio...so every so often he'd have to wind it up. It was kind of noisy and we all got a good laugh every time he did it. It was a really memorable 4th.

Gestational Diabetes

Today I had my doctor appointment. I woke up with a migrain and was feeling horrible. I had to fast and go into the doctor for the gestational diabetes test. So I had an empty stomach and then was asked to drink 10 oz. of this sugar drink that basically taste like 7up with no carbonation in five minutes. There was a couple times were I gagged and just about lost it. The nurse told me if I needed to puke just go ahead and we can reschedule. No thanks I'm not doing this again. So I made it the full Hour and they drew my blood. My results came back my iron was low and I'm border line diabetic. The doctor explained to me what could happen. I need to eat more protein and less carbs. They will re-do the test at my next visit. With the other three kids I always passed with flying colors. I swear this pregnancy has been almost text book of all the horrible things you may experience. It has been a uphill battle, with no end in sight.

Ryan was talking to his friend Bryce who lost over 60lbs by changing his diet. His doctor recommended this book. We stopped at Barnes and noble and picked it up. I started reading it and it's extremely interesting. Basically 90% of overweight people are insulin resistent. I recommend this to anyone who would like to loose weight. It's actually simple and makes so much sense. You need to balance what you eat. For example one serving of carbs need one serving of protein. It talks about serving size. They're no counting calories, fat or carbs. It's just really common sense. Which is what I need. We'll give it a go and keep you posted.
